ARTFL News - 2009

  • The ARTFL Project is pleased to introduce Wordnik to our user community.  Wordnik is a valuable new dictionary resource that is built on a solid lexicographical foundation and packed with interactive features.  Several current and former ARTFL team members are taking part in this exciting project's ongoing development.  Enjoy!  (8/2009)
  • Thanks to the continued effort and support of CIFNAL and the ARTFL Sustaining Members we have recently digitized and corrected 136 new titles for the Bibliothèque Bleue Online, which now includes 252 works with digital page images. (8/2009)
  • The Perseus under PhiloLogic site has been updated to include a number of important new features: Morphological searching for Greek and Latin, linking to (freshly edited) dictionaries, and a friendly home page for looking up primary texts, parses, dictionary entries and grammar sections all at once. For more information, go to perseus.uchicago.edu/about.html. The addition of morphological searching to the site was funded in large part by an Academic Technology Innovation grant from the provost's office of the University of Chicago. (7/2009)
  • ARTFL has a new server coming online. We will be migrating many ARTFL services to this machine in the next couple of months. If you are a member of a subscribing institution and cannot get access to ARTFL resources, please contact your school's networking administration and have them add "artflx.uchicago.edu" to their master proxy configuration list. (04/2009)
  • The ARTFL Project is pleased to annouced the release of significant upgrades to PhiloLine as well as the first release of PAIR. PhiloLine and PAIR are systems designed to identify similar passages in large textual collections. PhiloLine is designed to work with installed PhiloLogic databases, featuring a wide range of search and result options, including cross-database alignment. PAIR is a user submission which will identify similar passages in large collections. Please consult the PhiloLine/PAIR release site for documentation, demonstrations, and source code. (03/2009)
