What is PhiloLogic?

PhiloLogicâ„¢ is the ARTFL Project's our primary full-text search, retrieval and analysis tool.

PhiloLogic 5 release notes:

New features include:

  • Completely rewritten collocations with better performance (1.5x) and a LOT of new functionality: 
    • Search within n words
    • Compare collocation distributions based on count and z-score difference.
    • Find most similar collocation distribution based on metadata (e.g. finding authors with most similar collocation distribution)
    • Collocations over time
  • Concordance searching with ordering optional
  • Revamped Web UI, and compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards
     

PhiloLogic 4.7 release notes:

New features include:

  • New aggregation report
  • New metadata stats in search results
  • Results bibliography in concordance and KWIC results.
  • Significant speed-ups for collocations, sorted KWICs, Faceted browsing (frequencies), landing page browsing
  • Export results to CSV
  • New generic dictionary lookup code
  • Support for date searching

PhiloLogic 4.0 release notes:

New features include:

  • a frequency sidebar for all queries, with powerful faceted browsing features
  • a single, consistent syntax for word, phrase, and metadata queries
  • and an intelligent autocomplete function to assist in large or complex query construction
  • a new dynamic Time Series report
  • dedicated reading interface with easy document navigation
  • a responsive web UI with dedicated mobile interface
