  • The Montaigne Project: Full text searching of Montaigne's Essais with page images from the Bordeaux Copy.
  • The Bibliothèque bleue de Troyes: Online collection of 252 chapbooks from the 16th to 18th centuries.
  • Epistemon: 40 literary and poetic texts of the French Renaissance. Curated by the Bibliothèques Virtuelles Humanistes (BVH) Project at the Université François-Rabelais de Tours and hosted at ARTFL.

Historical Slavery Document Collections

As part of preliminary work on the development of a larger collection of French and English documents related to slavery in the 18th and early 19th century, we have released the following:

English Resources:

16th-17th Century
  • First Folio of Shakespeare's plays: Published in 1623, this first collected edition of Shakespeare's plays contains 36 works along with page images from the Bodleian Library copy.
  • The EEBO-TCP collection: over 53,000 texts from 1475 to 1700
18th Century
Combined Collections
  • ECCO-TCP + EEBO-TCP combined collection: over 56,000 texts from the combined English TCP collections, dating from 1475 to the early 19th century.
